“As I gladly tell everyone, we would not exist without BSUMC,” stated Reverend Deb Richardson-Moore, Pastor/Director of Triune Mercy Center.

“We are deeply honored to receive this award from the Sisk Foundation of Buncombe Street Methodist Church. Their involvement in our Emergency Assistance and Interfaith Hospitality Network programs transforms lives by preventing the crisis of eviction and restoring the dignity of housing to families who are experiencing homelessness with their children. By working with United Ministries during such challenging times, their ministry warmly embraces the ‘least of these,’” said Reverend Tony McDade, Executive Director of United Ministries.

Linda Wilson, Program Director and Grants Administrator for Step by Step Ministries, said, “Having this gift has lifted some load off of our mission, giving us more time to focus on the needs of our homeless residents. We have much respect for Buncombe Street Methodist Church for all the energy they put towards helping those with little resources and big needs.”

The Sisk Foundation was established in 1985 in response to a magnificent legacy gift from the estate of J. Kelly Sisk to support the needs of people in Greenville County. According to the provisions of the Trust Agreement, grants are made each year from the disbursement of net income from the investment of his gift. The Sisk Foundation has granted over 3.9 million dollars to the community since 2006.
