Children

Our Children's Ministry introduces our children to God’s Word. We help the youngest members of our church family discover Jesus in a safe place with meaningful activities to jumpstart their faith journey.

We want children to be eager to learn about God! We want them to be active in the church and giving in their homes, community, and world. So we offer spaces where the love of God is ever present and a place where everyone is allowed to love God and one another through worship and fellowship in a safe environment.

We use Family Faith Steps with one building on the next:

• • Baptism
  • Cokesbury’s Wonder Curriculum, 2K-4K
  • Godly Play, 5K-2nd grade
  • Third Grade Bible presentation
  • Using Your Bible, 3rd-5th

Children’s Ministry Events

Sunday School

We offer Sunday School for children in 2K through grade 5.

Nurseries (infants-age 4)

The Nursery is for children between the ages of 8-weeks-old and 4K and is available during all Sunday morning services, as well as during Sunday school hours for those under 2K. Our nursery is staffed with trained, paid workers, as well as parent volunteers. In addition to Sunday mornings, most church-wide activities, as well as many of our special programs, include nursery-age childcare.

Other Activities

Our children’s activities aren’t just limited to Sunday mornings! We offer Vacation Bible School and a variety of age-appropriate camps in the summer, and various other activities throughout the school year.

Sprouts

Sprouts is a covenant group for 4th and 5th-grade children offered on Sunday evenings during the school year. Sprouts challenges children to grow as disciples and opens their eyes to new ways of loving God by loving others.

We’re serious about security!

The Children’s Ministry’s primary focus is to ensure the safety of every child attending our church activities. Through our security system, the church is able to identify and confirm the location of a child at any time, quickly alert members during an emergency, have knowledge of a child’s allergies or special needs, have confidence in matching children with guardians, and provide security badges to children, parents, and visitors. This system exists for all children from infancy through fifth grade. Want to know more?

As a church, we recognize our youngest BSMC members may have unique needs that may make it hard to share in the abundant life of the church through group ministry programs. If your child has unique social, emotional or physical needs, please contact us by calling the front office, 864-232-7341.
