Ministries at Buncombe Street

We offer opportunities for children, youth and adults to pray, worship, and learn together, all working to share God’s love and reflect what it means to be a follower of Jesus in the world around us.

Our Children’s Ministry introduces our children to God’s Word. We help the youngest members of our church family discover Jesus in a safe place with meaningful activities to jumpstart their faith journey.

Buncombe Street is committed to honoring senior adults who have helped pave the path for future generations. One of the ways we demonstrate our appreciation and support is by providing intentional community, as well as opportunities to continue sharing Christ with others, through a variety of programs.

Missions & Outreach

Missions & Outreach

God has called every one of us to reach outward to grow God’s kingdom. Our goal at Buncombe Street is to be a faith family of world-changing disciples who love God and love our neighbors – down the street and around the world.

Missions & Outreach Reaching Outward, Growing God’s Kingdom

We partner with 21 local and global organizations working to fulfill the Great Commission, alleviate human suffering, and encourage and empower the marginalized. We highlight these partners and their work each year during our Missions Impact Week.

We have monthly local community outreach opportunities and annual opportunities to serve with our partner organizations. We also have many opportunities to get outside your comfort zone on an international mission trip.

April 17 - 19, 2026 Missions Impact Weekend

Join us for a special weekend as we come together to celebrate the mission work happening locally and around the world through our church family! Missions Impact Weekend is a time to connect with our ministry partners, hear inspiring stories of lives being changed, and find meaningful ways to get involved.

African Children's Choir

Mark your calendar for the African Children’s Choir concert in Sisk Hall on Friday, April 17 at 7:00 PM. This is a wonderful opportunity for the whole family to experience the joy and talent of incredible young performers and hear some favorite hymns with an African twist.

This is a FREE event however we will not have childcare available during the concert.

BSMC Work Day

Get ready to roll up your sleeves with your family on Saturday, April 18 from 9:00 – 11:30 AM at our BSMC Work Day! We will tackle a variety of projects around our campus. Whether you love to build, paint, clean or just want to lend a hand – there’s a place for you. Sign up is required – make sure you register online to let us know you are coming.

Lunch will be provided and kids ages 9 & up are welcome if accompanied by a parent.

Local Outreach Days

Spend a few days giving back to our local Greenville community!

Tuesday – Heart of Compassion: Join us at Heart of Compassion as we stock their Greenville warehouse shelves to help keep this vital resource ready to serve our community. No experience needed — just a willing heart and a few hours of your time.

Wednesday – Soteria: We'll be preparing and providing a hot dinner for the women at Soteria, offering a simple but meaningful gesture of care and hospitality to those they serve.

Thursday –Front Porch Housing: Help us clean and organize at Front Porch Housing, supporting their work of providing stable housing to individuals and families in our area.

Email Lisa Nalley to sign up.

The Wall of the Unreached

The Wall of the Unreached is a powerful display listing the names of approximately 7,000 unreached people groups from around the world. Walking along the Wall puts a name to the billions of people who have never had the opportunity to hear the gospel, serving as both a sobering reminder of the work still to be done and a call to action to learn, pray, give, and go. We invite you to take a few moments during Missions Impact Weekend to walk the Wall and ask God how He might be calling you to make a difference among the unreached.

The wall will be installed April 12 - 19.
