God has called every one of us to reach outward to grow God’s kingdom. Our goal at Buncombe Street is to be a faith family of world-changing disciples who love God and love our neighbors – down the street and around the world.

Missions & Outreach Reaching Outward, Growing God’s Kingdom
We have monthly local community outreach opportunities and annual opportunities to serve with our partner organizations. We also have many opportunities to get outside your comfort zone on an international mission trip.

Upcoming 2026-2027 Mission Trips

Dominican Republic Mission Trip
This fall, travel to Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic (November 4–11, 2026) to serve alongside Mission of Hope. The primary focus is a mobile medical clinic, but non-medical volunteers are needed too, including those who love working with kids and families. Open to ages 12 & up. Cost is $1404 / person.

Guatemala Mission Trip
In early 2027, the Men's Ministry Mission Trip heads to Guatemala (February 13–20) to partner with Engadi Ministries. The trip includes a construction project, a family festival with the Engadi kids, and a cultural day. Open to men ages 18 & up. Trip cost is $850/person.

Greenville Together
October 22nd – 8:30 am – 11:30 am
Do you have a heart for the homeless in our community? Come learn more about Greenville Together is helping people move out of homelessness and into permanent housing- and providing the support needed to stay housed. We work alongside their outreach team to provide snacks and waters to our unhoused neighbors. We will meet at 8:30 at the United Way of Greenville County located at 105 Edinburgh Ct Greenville, SC 29607-2529
PMAC
October 22nd – 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm
Do you have a passion for helping underserved kids in our community? Come join us in serving and enjoying fellowship with the students at Poe Mill Achievement Center (PMAC). We are providing pizza but would love for you to bring a side. Contact Lisa Nalley for more info.
Front Porch Housing
November 10th – 10 am to 12 pm
You don’t want to miss out on this meaningful hand-on opportunity to serve a family in our community! These families are taking an important step in their journey towards stable housing and we get to help them build a stronger future! We will help by cleaning an apartment of a family who has recently graduated from the program.
Water Missions Walk for Water
Saturday, November 7, 2026
Event opens at 9Â a.m.
Walk begins at 10Â a.m.
Come join this Walk for Water event. It is a great event for the whole family to walk in the shoes of people in need and bring safe, clean water. Located at Furman University. The event opens at 9am. The walk begins at 10am.
Donate Christmas Gifts
December 1st through 7th
If you would like to donate Christmas gifts to underprivileged children living at Front Porch Housing, please let me know and I will provide the information.
Donate food for our backpack program.
Each week we deliver 12 plastic grocery bags of food to Blythe Elementary School. The bags of food are placed in underprivileged students’ backpacks on Fridays to insure they will have something to eat during the weekend.
Items needed include:
- Individual mac and cheese
- Chef Boyaredee pop top pastas with meat
- Applesauce and fruit cups
- Ramen noodles
- Pop tarts
- Packs of crackers
- Protein snack bars
Front Porch Housing
They have many needs including but not limited to helping with events, or at the receptionist desk, tutoring children after school or mentoring a participant in the program.
Soteria
They are in need of mentors. Volunteers who will take the time to visit Soterias previously incarcerated to spend time with them to provide encouragement and support.
PMAC
After school volunteers and mentorship opportunities.
United Ministries
United Ministries would like volunteers for their events this fall.
October 1st they are hosting Pickle with a Purpose from 5 to 8 pm. A pickleball fundraising tournament.
October 23rd you can help by volunteering at their Support Community Fall Festival anytime during the hours of 2 pm to 8:30 pm. You can participate in Trunk or Treat or donate candy if you cannot attend.
