One Race One Blood (Virtual)

The Bible teaches that all people share the same origin and are part of one human family. In One Race, One Blood, Ken Ham and Dr. Charles Ware reveal how Scripture, science, and history confirm this truth, and how it offers real hope in a world divided by racism. Together, we’ll explore God’s design for humanity, the historical roots of racial divisions, and the transforming power of the gospel to bring reconciliation. We’ll also learn how “Grace Relations” can replace prejudice with unity and love in Christ.

This group will provide a safe space for honest conversation, biblical reflection, and practical steps toward living out God’s vision for every tribe, tongue, and nation. Join us as we discover what it truly means to be one race, made in God’s image, and redeemed by Christ’s blood.   *Starts September 2*

Table Talk: A Journey to Faith & Freedom

A Journey to Faith & Freedom is a small group Bible study that brings Exodus 1–15 to life—where slavery, struggle, and stunning rescue intersect with the faithful hand of God. Together, we’ll step into the cries of His people, the calling of Moses, the plagues of Egypt, and the miraculous parting of the sea. This isn’t a lecture or a study centered on a workbook. It’s a conversation. We’ll gather around the table, open God’s Word, and explore it in community—asking honest questions, wrestling with the text, and discovering what it means for our lives today. Whether this story is familiar or brand new to you, you’re invited to dive in deeply and personally. *starts September 17*

God's Roadmap for a Difficult Road

We often expect our Christian walk to lead us from “glory to glory.” However, at no point does the Bible promise us an easy life. Using two complementary video studies, “Walking the Broken Path” and “Keep Climbing”, explore how God works with us through the challenges in our lives. Luke and Allyson Varn facilitate this study in their home.  *starts September 17*

Scriptural Context

Scriptural Context is a weekly Bible study that takes a deeper look at verses often quoted out of context. Each session explores a different passage, examining the surrounding Scripture to uncover the true meaning and intent of the text. Because each week features a new, standalone topic, this study is perfect for those seeking spiritual insight with the flexibility to come and go as their schedule allows.

The Message of the Sermon on the Mount

Join us for an 8-week study on Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount and then another study to be determined later by the group. The Message of the Sermon on the Mount explores the passage of Matthew chapters 5-7, a central teaching that lays out what it means to live as a citizen of God’s Kingdom. Author John Stott offers clear and thoughtful commentary on Jesus’ words, showing how they challenge both religious complacency and worldly values. Stott emphasizes that the Sermon is not a set of rules for salvation, but a description of life for those who follow Christ. It’s both a high calling and a picture of grace-filled living. Petals and Praise

Discover the joy of floral design while serving your church community in a meaningful and creative way. This hands-on class for women offers a unique opportunity to learn the art of arranging flowers for worship and celebration.

Together, we’ll explore how to create stunning urn and compote arrangements, reflect on the biblical meaning of beauty, and enjoy rich fellowship with others who share a heart for service through creativity. Our ultimate goal is to form the Buncombe Street Flower Guild, a team of volunteers who will help design and prepare floral arrangements for Sunday services and special events on a rotating basis.

The first two sessions (9/18 and 9/25) will be group gatherings to learn and practice together. After that, we’ll break into smaller teams of 3–4 to continue creating arrangements for the sanctuary. Schedules will be decided on by participants. No experience needed—just bring a willing heart, a love for God’s creation, and if possible, a pair of floral snips. Group limit is 10 people.  *Starts September 18*

DCD Bible Study

Luke’s Acts picks up where the Gospels leave off—showing how a fearful group of disciples became bold witnesses who spread the Gospel across the world. Without this book, the explosive growth of the early church would remain a mystery. With over 20 years of teaching experience, Dennis E. Johnson offers clear, insightful guidance through this powerful narrative, revealing how Jesus’ promise in Acts 1:8 came to life: “You will be my witnesses… to the ends of the earth.” This study is facilitated by Wes Few at his office.
