Whether you are visiting for the first time, planning a wedding or funeral, or looking for specific forms, you can find helpful information and resources here to make your experience with our church as smooth as possible.

How To Find Us Parking & Directions

Buncombe Street Methodist Church is in the heart of Greenville, South Carolina. Our Traditional Sanctuary faces Buncombe Street, and our campus occupies the entire block formed by Academy, Buncombe, Richardson, and College Street.

Parking is available in various lots around the church property.

Sunday Parking

On Sunday, the lots on the map are available for church parking. However, please note that on Sunday mornings, the College Street parking lot is reserved for handicapped and senior adult church members.

The Richardson Street garage is FREE on Sundays.

Weekday Parking

Although our parking lots are all owned by Buncombe Street, the large lots across Richardson and Buncombe Streets are leased to other persons Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM until 6:00 PM. These parking lots are available for church activities during the weekday evenings or on the weekends for members displaying a BSMC decal. Decals are available in the church office. During the week, the College Street lot is the preferred parking area for those coming to the church office or for those attending activities in the church building.

Getting Married? Weddings

Weddings are a sacred and joyous celebration of love and commitment, marking the beginning of a lifelong journey between two people. In the eyes of the church, a wedding is more than just a ceremonial event; it is a profound covenant made before God, family, and friends.

Members of Buncombe Street Methodist Church or children of members may use our worship spaces for weddings and receptions. For a wedding to be placed on the church calendar, these persons must have been members of the church for at least one (1) year. The spaces available include:

  • Sanctuary (capacity – 800)
  • Memorial Chapel (capacity – 200)

Brides are encouraged to read the Buncombe Street Wedding Policy & Guide before filling out our Wedding Information Request Form .

Please do not fill out our wedding forms unless you meet the membership requirement and are prepared to abide by all aspects of the Wedding Policy.

End of Life Planning Funeral Services

Funerals hold a deeply significant place within the life of the church, providing a sacred space to honor, remember, and celebrate the lives of those who have passed away. In the eyes of the church, a funeral is not only a moment of sorrow but also a profound expression of faith and hope. It is a time to grieve the loss of a loved one while finding solace in the promise of eternal life through Christ. It is our honor to assist families, members, and funeral homes in planning and conducting comforting, reverent funerals at the church.

If you are interested in having a funeral service at Buncombe Street, we ask that you read our Funeral & Memorial Service Policy and Guide.

After you have read the guide and if you wish to begin planning your funeral or the funeral of a loved one at the church, please fill out a Funeral Planning Worksheet.

You can email the funeral planning worksheet to Vickie Halstead.
