Freeman Orr & Bill Kutz Memorial Concert Series
Join us for a special evening in the Sanctuary as we celebrate faith, music, and community heritage on October 12! This special Memorial Concert Series honors the legacies of former music directors Freeman Orr and Bill Kutz, with the Kutz family as honored guests. Experience a captivating musical journey through history as beloved hymn writers and composers from the fourth century to the 20th century come alive to tell their own stories in this unique festival of hymns by Hal Hopson. This opening concert features 90 magnificent voices from The Fountain Inn Chorale, Buncombe Street’s Chancel Choir, and Christ Episcopal Church’s Chancel Choir, conducted by Donald W. Duncan. The performance will be enhanced by noted organist Dr. Charles Tompkins, pianist Vance Jenkins, and a stirring brass quintet with timpani. All are welcome to attend and stop by the lobby after the concert for refreshments and fellowship.
