This Advent season, we are discovering how God’s light breaks into our darkness, how His perfect timing guides our waiting, and how surrendering our plans opens us to His greater purposes. Whether you are looking for a church home or simply want to experience the wonder of Christmas, we would love to welcome you.

Come see what God can do through you at Buncombe Street!

Sermon Series Anticipation

Anticipation explores what it means to wait for God’s promises. From Israel’s longing for the Messiah to Zechariah’s doubt and Mary’s surrender, over three weeks we will discover that God works in unexpected ways with unexpected people – inviting us to hope, trust, and obey as we await Christ’s return.

Celebrate Christmas Eve with us!

We will have three worship services on Christmas Eve.

Traditional Worship

Join us as we celebrate the God who kept His promise, sent His Son, and broke into our darkness with glorious light in our historical Sanctuary.  As you make plans with your family, know that children are welcome in all services, and nursery will be available.

11:00 AM & 5:00 PM

Contemporary Worship

Through Scripture, music, and candlelight, we will worship the One who came and renew our hope as we await His return. Join us for Christmas Eve at The Table in Sisk Hall. As you make plans with your family, know that children are welcome in all services, and nursery will be available.

Give Back This Christmas

BSMC Go Fund Missions Advent Offering

This Advent, give to the BSMC Go Fund. Established by a Buncombe Street family who stepped out in faith, this fund reduces international mission trip costs, allowing more people to say “yes” to God’s call. As we live in Anticipation of Christ’s return, let’s invest in taking His hope to the world. Your donation to the BSMC Go Fund is an investment in the Gospel going forward and in lives being transformed both here and abroad.

To give to the Missions Advent Offering, include Missions in your memo line of a check or cash donation, or when giving online, select “Advent Offering” from the drop-down list.

The trip cost for our international mission trip opportunities in 2026 has been generously reduced by $500 through the Go Fund. Space is still available on our Ecuador trip and our Costa Rica trip. Reserve your spot today!

Sponsor An Angel Buncombe Street Angel Tree

We have personally gathered names of 62 children in our Greenville community who will not get Christmas gifts without our help.We are so grateful that all of our Angels have been selected and everyone is ready to start shopping.

Be sure to return your gifts to the church by Sunday, December 14 in the designated bags (located under the trees in the lobby.)

Honor A Loved ONe Poinsettias

This Advent, as we celebrate the hope that pierced the darkness, honor or remember a loved one with a poinsettia. These beautiful blooms will adorn our worship space as we anticipate Christ’s coming, reminding us that even in seasons of loss and longing, God brings beauty and light. Poinsettias are $25 each. You can find order forms in the lobby areas or in the church office, or order online by clicking here.

Please order by December 15 to be included in the Christmas Eve bulletin.

Holiday Schedule

Our church building will be completely closed from December 25 – January 2. In case of an emergency, please call the church office number (864-232-7341) and leave a message and one of our pastors on call will contact you. Our Child Development Center is also closed during this week. Please make sure that your year-end financial gifts are postmarked by December 31 to ensure they apply to your 2025 contributions.

We no longer have our PO Box, and all mail should be sent to our street address (200 Buncombe Street, 29601).

There will be ONE worship service on Sunday, December 28 at 10:00 AM. This informal gathering will provide a peaceful space to reflect on 2025, look ahead to 2026, and worship together as a church family. Please note that this service will not be livestreamed, and we will not have children or youth Sunday School. Nursery will not be available.
