Child Development Center

Welcome to the Buncombe Street Child Development Center, where our mission is to facilitate the development of God’s children in His world! We are a full day, year-round child development center at Buncombe Street Methodist Church in Greenville, South Carolina. Our care ranges from precious 6-week-old infants to after school care for our elementary school-age friends. 

Our Programs

The CDC offers three programs to service all your childcare needs from infants to school-age.

Full Day Program


Hours of Operation: 7:30 AM until 5:30 PM

The CDC curriculum has been carefully planned to provide the best developmentally appropriate educational experience possible for your child. Our teachers use the Mother Goose curriculum as a theme-based guide to carefully plan activities and experiences to enhance the spiritual, physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development of each child.
Afterschool Program


Afterschool Program

The CDC offers an afterschool program for students in K5-5th Grade. We pick students up from the following schools near Downtown Greenville:

  • East North Street Academy
  • Stone Academy
  • Summit Drive
  • Augusta Circle
  • Blythe Academy
  • Sara Collins

Registration is limited and begins early April.

Camp OASIS


Camp OASIS

The CDC’s annual Summer Camp program (Camp OASIS) is available to rising K5 through 2nd grade students. Camp OASIS is where children are encouraged to explore the Outdoors, experience the Arts, perform acts of Service, use their creativity and Imagination, and grow Spiritually!

Registration is limited and begins early March.

Enrollment Steps to Enrolling in the Full Day Program

  1. Arrange a tour:Tours are typically held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM. The average tour takes 15 to 20 minutes.
  2. Submit a Wait List Form and Payment: You may submit at any time or bring with you at the time of your tour.
  3. Registration Fee & Enrollment Forms: Once offered a spot and you accept, please pay the Registration fee and complete the Enrollment forms.
  4. Orientation. Attend the Orientation and bring in all of the completed paperwork
  5. Welcome! Once you are successfully enrolled, you are welcomed into the CDC family! Your child(ren) will start in their new classroom on the agreed upon start date.
The following procedure is the priority category given for admission to the center:
 

  1. CDC or Church Staff
  2. Church Member w/sibling enrolled
  3. Non church member w/ sibling enrolled
  4. Church Member
  5. Community

CDC Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer part-time, full-time, or drop-in care?
We only offer year-round, full-time care with 12 equal payments throughout the year.
What is the age cut off for each age group?
Infants must be born on or before September 1 of that year so that children will be with their graduating class in Greenville County Schools.
Is there a registration fee?
There is a one-time registration fee of $250 for infants, toddlers, 2K; $150 for 3K and 4K when you accept a spot
How much is tuition?

Tuition for infants and toddlers is $1,225/month; 2K, 3K, and 4K is $1,100/month.

When does your school year start?

Our new school year starts on the Tuesday after Memorial Day each year.

  • Teacher training (2 consecutive days combined with July 4th)

Can we take a tour of the facility?
Tours are offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11:00, 11:30 or 12:00 and take about 20 minutes. Click here to sign up for a tour of either of our campuses.
When do you offer spots for the next school year?
We begin offering spots for the next school year the first full week of February. Families will be called in the order wait list applications are received. Church members and siblings of currently-enrolled students receive priority. You have 24 hours to accept or decline the spot. If you accept a spot that begins in June, then you are required to pay for the spot even if your child is not yet born or old enough to attend.
Do parents need to enroll their child each school year?
No, you do not need to enroll every year. Once your child is accepted into BSMC CDC, your child moves up with his/her class. They will get new teachers and a new classroom, but their friends will remain the same.
How do we get on the Wait List?
Fill out the Wait List Form and either mail or drop off the form with payment to our campus.
