Visitor FAQs

When does Sunday worship start, and how long does it last?

The Downtown Campus offers a Chapel service at 8:45 AM and traditional and contemporary services at 11:00 AM. The Trinity Campus offers a traditional service at 11:00 AM.
The Downtown Campus is located at 200 Buncombe Street 29601. The Trinity Campus is located at 2703 Augusta St. 29605.

All of our services are approximately an hour long.

Where can I park?

Both campuses feature adjacent parking lots. You can find more information about parking at the Downtown Campus here and more about parking at the Trinity Campus here.

May I take Communion?

We invite everyone to join us at the Lord’s Supper. You do not need to be a member of Buncombe Street or a member of a United Methodist Church to take Communion. It’s God’s table, not ours.

What should I wear?

You will see a mix of styles at Buncombe Street, with our contemporary services tending more toward the casual and our traditional services being somewhat more formal. On any given Sunday, you will see people wearing everything from shorts to pearls, and all styles of dress are accepted in any service.

Where do my kids go?

We offer child care for children ages eight weeks to K-4 during all of our services at both campuses. Our nursery is staffed with trained, paid professionals, as well as parent volunteers.

Children from kindergarten to second grade can experience the beginning of the 11:00 AM services before transitioning to a special kid’s service.

The Table contemporary service offers “family tables.” At the family tables, activities are provided and wiggling is expected.

Our Downtown Campus offers Sunday School for all ages at 10:00 AM.

Will my children be safe?

The Children’s Ministry’s top priority is to ensure the safety of every child attending our church activities. Our secure system produces badges for all children and parents. Personnel can identify and confirm the location of a child at any time as well as access parent provided information including known allergies.  This system exists for all children from infancy through fifth grade.
