Why Not Climb a Tree?

Zacchaeus the Tax Collector. Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through. A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy. He wanted to see who Jesus was, but because he was short he could not see over the crowd. So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see him, since Jesus was coming that way.

Luke 19:1-4

Where do I place myself within this community to see God? Seeing God at work increases my understanding of my creator and myself. So, why not go climb a “tree?” A tree may be any way to engage in the community. Maybe I’m already involved and experiencing God in the work I undertake with others. Or, maybe it’s time for a fresh perspective. Visit BuncombeStreetUMC.org/get-involved for ideas.
