To the Bahamas With Love

Donate much needed items on or before Sunday, September 22.
Hurricane Dorian battered the Bahamas with high winds and rain for more than forty-eight hours. While the Carolinas confronted heavy rains, the same storm just a few days ago left a country dependent on tourism as their main industry temporarily inoperative.
Relief is needed now in the Bahamas to respond to immediate needs before the islands can begin recovering in the coming months/years.
A BSUMC partner, Water Mission, has received a generous offer from one of their donors to match donations up to $75,000 for their Dorian relief efforts. Our Mission and Outreach Committee is taking advantage of this opportunity to immediately send $5000 of funds already budgeted to go Water Mission this year.
We as a church have opportunities to reach out now
to the Bahamas with love.
  1. Donate Items – BSUMC is a collection point for One Eleuthera, a non-profit organization working with the Bahamas Conference of the UMC. Click HERE for a list of needed items. Donations can be brought to the offices at either campus until further notice.
  2. Give Financially – 100% of financial gifts to the UMCOR Dorian Response go to disaster relief. UMC apportionments cover UMCOR’s administrative costs. Click HERE to make a financial donation.
