Jana Clack to join BSUMC staff as Director of Children’s Ministry

Buncombe Street UMC is excited to welcome Jana Clack to our staff as the new Director of Children’s Ministry. Jana will start her new position with us on October 26.

Jana is a native of Greenville, but she has called the Atlanta area home for the past 3.5 years. She currently serves as the Executive Director of Preschool and Church Operations at Decatur First UMC. Her previous role was as the Camp Director of a residential summer camp outside of metro Atlanta.

Jana’s ministry experience was first fostered while working at Asbury Hills Camp and Retreat Center on summer staff for three years and as a year-round program staff member serving retreat groups. She also served as the Director of Children and Students at Bethesda UMC in Powdersville, South Carolina, prior to moving to Georgia.

Jana holds a BA in History from the University of South Carolina and earned her Master’s in Youth Development Leadership from Clemson University. She is excited to be working directly with children and their families again, providing opportunities that foster lifelong discipleship and Christian community.

Jana and her husband Randy, who is a Real Estate Developer with Pennrose Properties, have a daughter, Eleanor, who is 2 years old. And here’s a fun fact: Jana played basketball at BSUMC growing up, and she received her first Bible in our Sanctuary! Many of her family members have called BSUMC their church home, and she is excited to be back in ministry with this community of faith.
