Blessing of the Animals: October 10

We are holding our first Blessing of the Animals worship service to acknowledge God and the church’s love, care, and concern for creation. As we recognize our mutual interdependence with God’s creatures, the Church’s witness of stewardship of creation is strengthened. The service will be held on the front lawn of the Trinity campus on Sunday, October 10 at 4:00 PM. We invite you to bring your pet to be celebrated and blessed. If you are unable to bring your pet, feel free to bring a picture which can be blessed. If your child is interested in coming but does not own a pet, you may bring a stuffed animal to receive a blessing.

There will be a brief worship service with prayer held on the Trinity campus lawn, after which you will be invited to take your pet to a station to be individually blessed by one of our clergy. There will be a station for the social and friendly animals, a station for the timid animals, and a drive-through station for animals that need to remain in a vehicle or trailer.

Quick reminders:
  • Please bring your own lawn chair or picnic blanket.
  • Pets must be leashed or in a carrier.
  • We will be collecting cat and dog food donations for Speak For Animals, we will not be accepting monetary donations.
