A Positive Approach to Dementia: September 14

Teepa Snow’s Positive Approach to Care and BSUMC present “A Positive Approach to Dementia”, an Alzheimer’s and Dementia workshop.
Join us at our Downtown campus from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM on September 14 in Sisk Hall. This session will focus on the best ways to support those living with dementia, whether they are members of our community or our own loved ones. Tips for knowing when it is time to find residential care for an individual and what to look for in a facility will be addressed. We will learn how to manage our expectations for improved outcomes with those living with dementia and strategies for more positive interactions with those living with dementia.
Our featured guest speaker is Melanie Bunn. Melanie, a Speaker and Mentor with Teepa’s Snow’s Positive Approach to Care®, received her undergraduate degree in nursing from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, her Master’s Degree in Family Health Nursing from Clemson University and a Post-Master’s Gerontological Nurse Practitioner Certificate from Duke University.
