2020 Bethlehem Breakfast

The annual Bethlehem Breakfast is a Buncombe Street tradition, and our 5th graders and 5th grade leaders have been working hard to create a sacred, yet safe, experience this year. In past years, all of the children have gathered in Memorial Chapel during the Sunday School hour to experience the 5th graders telling the Christmas story with drama, songs, & costumes. Afterwards, the children talk about what the birth of Jesus means to them while enjoying donuts together. As with so many things this year, the Bethlehem Breakfast will be a little different, but because it will be experienced via Zoom, the whole membership of BSUMC is invited to watch this meaningful story of the birth of our savior.

Mission Project

A big part of the Bethlehem Breakfast is that all of the children bring a gift for the Christ child. This year, the gifts of crayons, markers, coloring and activity books and encouragement cards to hospital workers go to Prisma Health Children’s Hospital. We will be collecting these items in the church office until January 3.
